Simple Bathroom Treatments to Bring an Atmosphere of Spa in Your Home

The idea behind spending time at spas is to help you feel better when you leave than how you did when you arrived. Whether the point of your spa visit is to get a massage to reduce muscle tension or stress brought on by daily life at the grinding stone, getting yourself pampered with a facial that rejuvenates your skin into an incandescent glow reminiscent of youth, or receiving a manicure and pedicure that softens the skin on your hands and feet to make you look and feel incredibly soft and groomed, a spa visit indeed helps to relax you and to make you feel happy. This article will look at the different ways to revamp your own bathroom to make it closely resemble and feel like a spa.

Creating a soothing atmosphere of peace, relaxation and wellbeing in your bathroom using decor accessories can well be achieved without having to incur expense with renovating your entire bathroom. Simple tricks of the trade like towel racks, mirrors, soaps, toiletries and 3D kinetic pictures that produce sound can be deployed to infuse a world of difference into the one room in your home that can be quickly turned into a place of relaxation and pamper without the need to even employ a message therapist, manicurists and such like.

And now I'm going to throw a few design ideas for your home's bathroom at you, that can help you get started with creating an ambiance that closely resembles that of a spa.

Graceful looking towel racks that are large enough to hold body sheet type bath towels--providing they don't make your bathroom look crowded--are a great way to begin transforming your bathroom. And if your towel rack is of Wrought iron and with perhaps a shelf on the top, a display of scented aroma therapy candles and potpourri can add a feeling of spa to the room. Throwing in some bath items like soaps and body lotions can make a pretty delightful display in the bathroom when neatly arranged inside a wicker basket, or in the case of soap, perhaps unwrapped and stored in a large, pretty, clear glass jar. And if you rolled towels and washcloths--instead of merely folding them-in a large flat basket you could easily create a focal point that is esthetically pleasing.

To add charisma and a personal touch, consider using antiques to create charming storage. When painted the same color as the bathroom walls, especially, an old three-drawer chest or freestanding repurposed jam cupboard can hold hair dryers, curlers, cosmetics and other personal effects to give an overall effect that says "personal". If you have ample natural light to allow them to grow, Green plants can increase a sense of wellbeing as they do look great anywhere. On your bathroom walls, consider hanging kinetic pictures of cascading waterfalls that emit the sound of trickling water. Pictures-in-motion will in more ways than one contribute to the serenity of the outdoors indoors in the absence of natural light in the room.

Use bath salts and body oils. Do not deny yourself these pleasures. You do deserve the feel good benefits that scented bath salts, botanicals, and body lotions and oils provide. Pamper yourself daily! Spa treatment products you enjoy at spas are oftentimes available for purchase for home use as well. Why not bring that luxurious spa feeling into your home?

The personal touches and ambiance--as is the case with spas you visit--help make the experience all the more special and memorable. Your own home bathroom is no different. Incorporate the items you love, and pieces of furniture that add to that spa feeling and you can't go wrong.

At Home Spa Treatments For Less

Do you spend thousands of dollars at a spa salon? Well, now you can have an in home spa for less. Spa yourself at home with facials, hands and feet scrubs, and body scrubs.

To start with a facial, you can use cucumbers for that natural treatment. Place a slice of cucumber over each eye for about 10 minutes. If you have puffy eyes, you can place a cold cloth or ice cubes over your eyes to help reduce the puffiness. Or you can use nourishing eye pads. The pads are cool to reduce the puffiness, soothe away irritation, refresh, and revitalize the eye area in just a few minutes. You can also place the pads in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

For an in-home facial, you can use a face masque. There are many masques you can find at a department store, but one of the best masques that I have tried is a self-heating masque. The self-heating masque warms up as you smooth it over your face. You can feel the warmth of the masque instantly, which tells you that the active ingredients are working. Some masques are botanically-enriched with ingredients like vitamins C, D, and also green tea. This type of masque is great for cleansing the skin of dirt, oil, and residue. After you rinse your face, smooth on a face moisturizer for added softness.

While nourishing your tired eyes, you can pamper your body by soaking in a bath full of therapeutic minerals. The minerals will leave your skin feeling soft and silky smooth. Fill your tub with warm water and indulge yourself for about 1/2 an hour or longer. Let you body soak so the minerals can absorb into your skin. You can also use a body scrub to exfoliate the first layer of dead skin. After a relaxing bath, smooth on some moisturizing mineral lotion. The lotion helps relieve tension and restores the moisture that was lost.

If you have very dry skin and need extra moisturizing treatment, you want to use an organic enzyme body masque. This is a moisturizing treatment for those targeted areas that are very dry. Smooth on the dry area and allow the masque to dry for at least five to ten minutes. Once dry, rinse off thoroughly. This treatment is great for dry hands and feet. For added softness, you can smooth on the moisturizing mineral lotion.

Products can range from $10 to up to $50, but it is surely less expensive than a trip to the spa salon. One facial can cost over $60 an hour, not including tip. You know you are getting a good deal when you can give yourself a home spa treatment over and over. These do-it-yourself target=_new home spa treatments will leave you feeling refreshed, clean, and silky smooth.

Sauna Suits - How to Use Sauna Suits

While the idea of relaxing in a sauna is very nice you need to prepare yourself for this experience. One of the best ways to enjoy a sauna is make sure that you have all of the materials like hot towels and a warm bath robe where you can get to them at your leisure. Getting into a sauna is one way to make your body sweat out calories, fat and stored fuel reserves. The other way is by wearing sauna suits.

These sauna suits have been designed so that they can be worn by anyone who wants to have many of the benefits of the sauna without having to buy a sauna. The sauna suit is made of rubberized vinyl.

This sauna suit has been constructed so that it will be strong enough for many different activities. For this reason you will find that various people wear these sauna suits. Among the many people who can be found wearing sauna suits are various athletes, wrestlers, amateur sporting individuals and people who want to lose some weight.

When you look for these sauna suits you should make sure that you are buying a sauna suit that is from a company that has some experience in making products like this. You should find out if this company has a known reputation for the weight loss benefits that are found with their product.

The sauna suit works on the same principal as the sauna. The suit builds up a certain amount of heat. This heat is drawn into your skin and since the area that is enclosed in the sauna suits become very hot you start sweating. This sweating produces another effect that can be experienced in saunas too.

While you are in the sauna the sweat makes your heart beat rate faster and opens the blood veins so that the blood will be freely circulating throughout the body. As a result of this blood flowing through your body the fat layers and stored fuel layers need to be converted into energy.

This energy is then made into sweat. By using sauna suits you can get the same effects as if you were inside of a sauna. The main difference with these sauna suits and saunas is that you can wear the sauna suits under your normal clothes and no one will know the difference. For this reason you can carry on with your normal activities and no one will know that you are wearing a sauna suit.

But beware - if you choose to use a sauna sweat suit, you must know exactly what they do and how long you should use them for. There could be negative consequences if you misuse them.

Design a Spa In Your Own Bath

The hectic pace of our lives and responsibilities makes it sometimes difficult to sit back and relax. A week at "the spa" is all we need! Why not bring the spa into your home and enjoy it whenever you can! Transform your own bath, through simple interior decorating ideas, into the spa-like atmosphere you crave. When thinking of that sanctuary, think natural healthy living and relaxation. To transform your own bath, here are some tips to follow:

Go natural with your colors and accessories. Nothing says ahhhhhhh.... Like the sound of sand and surf, so incorporate those colors (soft blues and tans) in your bath. Bring in soft mossy greens and browns to anchor the color palette. Get your inspiration from the outdoors and keep the colors soothing and soft.

In accessories, keep everything neutral in creams, greens, blues, and browns. Think texture, feel, and minimalism when choosing bath accessories, such as towels. Fluffy, white towels rolled up and placed in a natural wicker basket by the side of the bath is ideal. Group bath soaps and salts together in pretty glass apothecary jars, using them as accessories. Place lotions, extra towels, and other bathroom needs behind closed doors or attractively on a shelf. Keep this space very uncluttered and clean. Well-placed flowers and green plants soften the edges and coldness of the bath and add to the spa atmosphere. Live orchids love the humidity of the bath, as do other real plants. Artificial ones that look great are certainly available also, if your thumb is not green!

Now that the stage is set, we need to add the ambiance. First, use candlelight- soy candles are fragrant and burn cleaner (good for the environment and your home.) Place numerous candles on a tray, instead of scattering them throughout the space, echoing that uncluttered feel. Do not overload your senses in this room. If the candles are fragrant, add no more scent. Some popular scents are rosewood and lavender. Soft, background music, waterfall sounds, or complete silence are relaxing and calming, and add to the ambiance. Dim the lights, or use just candlelight for a soft glow.

Enjoy the moment of quiet and sink into the tub of sudsy water. Block out the outer world. Leave the cell phone behind. Turn off the television. The "to do" list can wait until later. This is your " spa" moment- relax and enjoy your new bathroom!

Tips for a Fantastic Home Spa Party

Most women rarely take quality time for themselves. If they're like me --we run around all day trying to please everybody else. Schedule a night out for your girlfriends, grab some healthy snacks, wine, and some wonderful aromatherapy products and you can seriously enhance you inner cravings for pampering without the hefty price tag.

Here's an idea, just take care of your friends and they will remain loyal to you forever. If you consider the needs of your friends like your own needs or better yet, pamper them better than their hubby has time for, they will remain your loyal customers forever.

So, this is your lesson plan for a fabulous night out.

First, obtain some wonderful aromatherapy products. The main products you will need are bath salts, salt scrub, a lotion, warm water, and some large tupperware boxes. In addition, a few choice products for specialty problems-such as calluses or hang nails- would be a big hit such as a natural cuticle treatment. Added perks should be a calming De Tox Tea that has natural antioxidant benefits.

Second, you need to set the tone. Set your room up to be just like a day spa. Display signs about the healing properties of lavender, ways to combat dry skin, benefits of a good DeTox Tea, reasons why your skin deserves the ROYAL treatment. Offer magazines with products to order as well as low stress reading material like Natural Health magazine. Set the stereo with calming music.

Third, if possible, the sound of water, is very relaxing. Display spa products in a high traffic location, but let the products speak for themselves. Talking can be very overrated. Reading, seeing, and using products can be more effective than listening to a speaker.

Finally, offer tools to enhance foot spa experience such as loofahs and razors. Ladies really do like to experience a complete pedicure but rarely take the time for themselves to enjoy it. Inner beauty, calmness, relaxation come when all the senses are alive. Lavender, in particular, has fantastic calming abilities as well as relieving stress, exhaustion, and restlessness.

Create a Spa Retreat at Home!

In today’s high-stress world, a visit to a spa can provide a much needed renewal for your mind, body and soul. If you don’t have the time and/or money to head to the nearest spa or resort, consider creating your own. Experience the benefits of a day at the spa by creating a near-professional spa in your own home. Here are some ideas for transforming you bathroom into a relaxing spa retreat.

SPA TREATMENTS

Widely used in spas, bath salts or salt scrubs made with sea salts are wonderful for their detoxifying properties. The Romans, Greeks and other European cultures have long believed in the benefits of healing through bathing in hotsprings.

SPA TOOLS

If you’re giving yourself a body treatment, have a body brush, loofah or sponge within easy reach. One of the best ways to revive skin is to exfoliate before you get in the shower. The ancient spas of Japan were known for their dry brushing techniques. Gently brush your body using circular motions with a soft body brush, starting at the feet and working your way up. This light brushing technique removes dead skin cells while stimulating circulation.

DRY OFF

Pamper yourself with classic and elegant spa garb – a luxuriously thick white terrycloth robe. If you don’t have a robe handy, find your fluffiest, softest towel. For an unmatched toasty treat, heat your robe or towel in the dryer before using.

MOISTURIZE

Water from the bath has a drying effect on the skin. To make the most of your skin replenishment, keep a special body lotion for spa days – one with an aroma that you enjoy.
