Change in Lip Color

Mostly our routine early morning is to wakeup and to brush our teeth and wash our face. But has anyone every noticed the lips and their colour. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) states that if there are prominent changes in your lip colour or even in the texture than it is an indication that there is something which is different about your health. The lips are also an indicator to your health status. Many a times, doctors also examine the colour of the lips to judge the health of a patient.

Healthy people have reddish, averaged moist and shiny lips, but it does not take time to have the change in the colour of the lips. If you are getting exhausted easily than your health condition would be affected and your lips will show change in colour in some such way as discussed in this article.

A person with anemia would have pale lips. Or if someone has blood loss or other diseases associated with the anemia and low cell count then also the same lip colour can be observed. One would have a pale or greenish upper lip if one has a weak intestine, diarrhea, bloatedness, stomachache, or fear of cold, etc. The pale lower lip indicates that one has a weak and cold stomach, with frequent vomiting and diarrhea, stomachache, stomach upset, abdominal pain and so on.

If you have greenish lips then it indicated that you have a very poor blood circulation, and you are prone to acute diseases, especially coronary disorders such as coronary thrombosis, stroke or similar acute attack. If your lips usually remain dry or dark red in colour, especially the upper lip, then you must watch out for abdominal disorder, and this symptom comes with stiff shoulder, bad breath, mouth infection, throat irritation, blocked ears or nose etc.

If you have black lips then they are highly suggestive of a digestive system disorder, such as constipation, diarrhea, lower abdominal pain or even headache, insomnia, poor appetite, and so on. Those who smoke a lot or have an excessive intake of caffeine also have darker lips.
